Itinerary
Day 1
CAIRO
Upon arrival at Cairo International Airport, you will be met by our Cairo office representative and transferred to your 5 star Intercontinental Pyramids Park hotel Cairo, upon arrival your tour leader will explain your stopover program. Rest of the day at leisure
Day 2
CAIRO : SAKKARA | ABU SIR Breakfast at hotel. Full day tour to Sakkara, one of the most exciting historical and archaeological areas in Egypt, and then Abu Sir, north of Sakkara. The Pyramids of Abu Sir originally consisted of fourteen pyramids from the 5th Dynasty. Only four are still standing: the Pyramid of Neferefre, where a royal group of statues of the Old Kingdom were discovered, and several portraits of king Neferefre himself. Continue to Dahshur, the area bordering on the necropolis of South Saqqara where several pharaohs chose to site their pyramids: the Pyramid of Snefru (Bent or Red Pyramid), the Pyramid of Amenemhet III (Black Pyramid), the Pyramid of Amenemhet II (White Pyramid) and the Pyramid of Senwosert III. Dahshur Necropolis tombs around the Pyramid of the Amenemhet III contained the burial of royal ladies, Mazghuna Pyramids. | B | L |
Day 3
CAIRO : PYRAMIDS OF CHEOPS | ABU RAWASH Breakfast at hotel. Full day tour to the Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mycerinus, one of the Seven Wonders of the ancient world, and The Great Sphinx of Giza, which dates from the time of Chephren (2620BC). Continue to Abu Rawash, the site of the most northerly pyramid in Egypt, Djedefre's Pyramid (Starry Sky). This is a mud brick structure built in the easternmost hills promontory. A Necropolis dating from Dynasty 1 to Dynasty V is situated 1.5km the north east of Djedefre's Pyramid. | B | L |
Day 4
CAIRO : EGYPTIAN MUSEUM | PHARAONIC VILLAGE Breakfast at hotel. Full day tour to visit the Egyptian Museum, the most important depository of Egyptian Antiquities anywhere in the World. Continue to the Pharaonic Village. The Pharaonic village, covering an area of nearly 150,000 square metres, is built entirely in the ancient Egyptian style and inhabited by some 300 Egyptians living in an ancient Egyptian atmosphere and practicing all the agricultural and industrial activities with the same tools and implements conserved in the Egyptian museum. You will also visit the house of an ordinary peasant and the villa of a nobleman, fully equipped with furniture of that time. To complete the tour, a temple is visited with its sacred lake and the priests living quarters. | B | L |
